This Privacy Policy explains how Fabulous Apps LLC ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use the Rock Identifier: GeoLens mobile app (the "App") and this website (together, the "Service"). A copy of the App Store version of this policy is also available here.

1. Information we collect

  • Photos you scan. When you identify a specimen, the photo you take or select is sent to our identification service to return a result. Photos are processed to provide the feature.
  • Collection library. Specimens you save (photo, identification, timestamp, confidence) are stored to provide your personal collection.
  • Usage and device data. The App uses analytics tools (Google Firebase and Amplitude) that collect app events, approximate usage, device model, operating system version, language, and identifiers used for analytics and crash reporting.
  • Subscription data. Purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (active, expired, entitlement) but not your full payment-card details.
  • Website data. This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure traffic. Where required by law, GA4 cookies (such as _ga, _ga_* and _gid) are set only after you accept analytics cookies in our cookie banner. Visitors in regions without an opt-in requirement may have analytics enabled by default; you can always change your choice via "Cookie settings" in the footer.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide identifications and the AI geology chat, and to maintain your collection.
  • To operate, secure, debug and improve the Service.
  • To manage subscriptions and entitlements.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the App and website are used.

3. Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies for two purposes: strictly necessary cookies that remember your preferences (including your cookie and language choices), and analytics cookies set by Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic anonymously. We use Google Consent Mode v2: analytics storage is denied by default and only enabled if and when you consent. You can accept, reject or change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

4. Third-party services

We rely on the following processors, each under their own privacy terms: Apple (app distribution, payments), our identification provider (image analysis), Google Firebase (storage, analytics, crash reporting), Amplitude (product analytics), RevenueCat (subscription management) and Google Analytics (website analytics).

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the processors above to operate the Service, or where required by law.

6. Data retention and security

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Your rights and choices

  • You can request access to or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@fabapps.dev.
  • You can stop all collection by deleting the App.
  • You can manage analytics cookies on this website at any time via "Cookie settings".
  • You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID account settings.
  • Depending on your location, you may have rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or similar laws, including access, correction, deletion and objection.

8. Children's privacy

The App is rated 4+ and is intended for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and the European Union. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
